Hannah Montana, Subversive Seduction

Something was recently pointed out to me by an astute LSC member named Amy. See her hurried missive below. This arrived by a secret route passed from messenger to messenger until it got to me at the headquarters. It took a while to decode the encrypted message, but here it is. We can finally show this to you as word has reached me that Amy is tucked away into one of our many safehouses.

I was flipping through the T.V. channels earlier and I saw Miley Cyrus eating celery on that silly "Hannah Montana" show. The show isn't just encouraging kids to have multiple identities anymore -- it's encouraging the consumption of celery. Just unacceptable. I think we should boycott Miley Cyrus and the Hannah Montana empire.

So, starting today we'll begin the boycott. No more Hannah Montana, no more Miley Cyrus. We will boycott until she concedes to stop showing celery eating in any of her shows or products. Also, let the letter writing campaigns begin!

I have no problem with boycotting Hannah Montana. I think I already was, without really even realizing it.

Hey, I know you are a working woman, but perhaps you've been so lucky to catch an episode of Wonder Pets on Nick, Jr. It's really something you should investigate. At the end of each adventure, the pets enjoy a celery snack. (Linny's-a guinea pig- catch phrase is "This calls for some celery!".)They are insidious in their attempts to persuade innocent kids to eat and like celery. Just thought you should know. :-)

I must protest in a most vociferous way (or is that cruciferous?) against this misguided -- some might say "violent" campaign against this gentle vegetable who has shared many a Bloody Caesar (and many Marys too, but they ain't talking) and has in many ways been a boon to me in some of my darkest hours and a rat's ass to have to peel, 'specially when they come from Mehico.

You bein' tough on dese creatures, Miss Wendy. Dey ain't done no wrong nohow. Dey crunchy!

And I love the Wonder Pets . . .

Shannon, thanks for your input about the Wonder Pets. I've got one of our groups checking into it as we speak.

ChefNick,

Ms. Heather Cherry will be seeing you to the door. It's misguided people like you who are making more work for the rest of us. You probably give celery to your children, don't you? I might look tough on the outside, but believe me... I'm crying on the inside right now.

Don't cry, Miss Wendy. Yes, I HAVE given celery, the most crunchy root parts to Taishi with Lipton Garlic & Onion soup with sour cream dip on days when there was Nascar but I also gave him carrot shoots with it.

Reckon' I done him wrong, Miss Wendy? He's onl' 7.

You be good now

Nick

Nick, right this way please. Follow me and no one gets hurt.

*Heaves Nick out back door into dark alley*

*straightens clothing*

*heads back inside and consoles Wendy with a Kleenex and warm chocolate chip cookie*
